Highland County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance
How to determine what your zoning allows:
1. Contact Zoning Administrator to confirm zoning.
2. After you have confirmed your zoning, look up your Zoning District in the Zoning Ordinance. There is a list of Permitted Uses - this is a list of uses that are permitted By-Right (B). There is also a list of Conditional Uses (C) that require a Conditional Use Permit application and a Public Hearing.
3. Once you determine permitted uses in your zoning, confirm what is allowed under that definition as found in Article 3 Page 7.
Zoning Use Matrix
This matrix details what uses are permitted in each Zoning District. Items marked B are permitted By-Right. Items marked C require a Conditional Use permit.
